Landscapers - question on lawn seed slitter

I see some of these machines with seed hopper in the front and some with it in the rear. Which location is best to have the seeds drop in the slit.

I use to own a landscaping business. I can make a good standing point for either and defend the opposite position.

Rear seed drop. I use a Ryan most of the time and have a old Henderson for small jobs. The Ryan has discs that roll the seed into the slits for less seed loss and better germination.

I bought a used Bluebird overseeder. Will be overseeding my lawn tomorrow. Any tips.
