I'm not sure what the Lamborghini and Maserati specs involve but the rest of the approvals seem like pretty standard fare for a good quality synthetic.

Assuming they are not drastically more stringent than the others (which it might be good to check if you can), you have a lot of great options open to you. What are you looking to get from your oil? Do you feel the factory oil is lacking in any way? Looking for something cheaper or more easily available?

A specific oil for a specific application! I've seen posts here where people ran a 20 grade from Wal-Mart in their pick-up after reading Doc's posts, and then complain because they didn't have a good experience.

My vote:
Motul 300V 5W-40
Red Line 0W or 5W-40
Renewable Lubricants Inc HD 5W-40

Nice cars!

Hi, checking in quick.

Any 5w-40, you can't go wrong.

Shell Rotella T Synth is considered the best and is easy to find.

It not because of nicer but because someone's dream will never come true... As for the oil - M1, Redline, Motul and Neo would be perfect fit for all of your toys.

I'm going to go ahead and recommend the Rotella T 5W-40. That is a quality, reliable oil. in fact it would probably be suited to more than one of your cars. It would be perfect for your application, in my opinion. If you really want Mobil 1, their 5W-40 Turbo Diesel Truck is great, too, but in my opinion the Rotella is a little better.

How much oil does it take?

I didn't even want to mention that it's cheap.

Truck oil in an Exotic, that's the beauty of bitog.

fwiw, M1 5w-40 isn't very good in cold.

I think OP doesn't drive nicer cars in sub-zero so that M1 5W40 cold flow problem does not effect. He doesn't need snow tires for his exotics either.

Cost of oil doesn't matter much as long as it doesn't cost more than $30-50/qt. Motul, Redline, Amsoil and RLI all costs less than $20/qt, so that either one of those are acceptable.

How Cool!....I run Lamborghini oil in my Ford Explorer!!!!

it takes about 12 quarts. which i thought wasn't that bad, considering the watercooled porsches take about 9 and are a little over half of the displacement.

i don't drive them in the winter that much. but occassionally if the weather is nice and there is no salt on the road they do come out. but that would really be very rarely. and for example, the way this winter was, that didnt happen once. they were started a handful of times in freezing weather to shuffle them around though. i know that's bad, but i needed to move them.

i see a lot of votes for rotella, mobil 1, redline...and i notice most picking the recommended weight.

i spent a lot of time reading AEHaas's articles, then i read the posts from his detractors on the Ferrari forum, interesting stuff. as i do occassionally hammer on the cars, i think i would be leaning towards the recommended weight.
