Lacquer Thinner to clean converter for BMW M5 V10

On my Accent as I was chasing the P0420 blues I tried a half gallon of some toluene/xylene lacquer thinner. It made a wonderful smoke show but didn't fix the dead cat. It was set up nice as I could just take the top O2 sensor out and let it slow drip through.

I saw this video of Scotty Kilmer about cleaning catalytic with lacquer thinner

I don't live in America and we have a lacquer thinner that have these ingredients in it:
Toluene & Butyl acetate

The lacquer thinner in America has these ingredients:
Methanol
Hydrotreated light distillate
Acetone
Acetic acid, ethyl ester
Toluene
Ethanol, 2-Butoxyethanol

Can I use the lacquer thinner of my country in my car even though it has different ingredients? My car is a BMW 2006 M5

Thank you

Scotty Kilmer is an idiot and by proxy any advice he gives is also idiotic.

I have the S65 V8 in my M3. The little brother to your S85. I won’t be putting anything into that engine unless 1)BMW approved it, or 2) the Indy BMW shop I take my car to (who happens to specialize in my engine) recommends it.

If you don’t have #2, see #1.

I’d replace the cats before I shove crap through the engine to clean them.
