Kumho Solus Xpert KH20

This looks to be a new H rated tire from Kumho. We know the KR21 is a good tire for its price, but it's only T rated. So people who need a H rated or higher usually had to step down to the KH16 model. It looks like this will compete with other H rated grand touring tires.

Dealers and used car lots are notorious for using generic Chinese or Korean tires (e.g. Kumho) on their used cars. At least the Korean tires are getting better, which is a good thing for those buying used cars.

I would'nt. I had a set of Kumho 21's and a set of Hankook mileage plus neither lasted half way to their warranty. I thought I was getting a good deal until they had to be replaced well before 40,000 miles.Luckily Discount Tire took care of me and pro rated the warranty.

It's good that you paid less for high mileage tires and get pro-rated warranty for premature tire wear, so that the actual cost to you is even less than what you paid.

Agreed. The Bridgestone/Firestone tires Honda uses from the factory are lousy in my experience.

OE tires in general are pretty terrible. Thsoe include the Continental ContriTrac that came on the expedition. Worn out and bad belts (rumbling- whumwhumwhum noise) by 25k miles. The mustang, BFGoodrich Traction T/A Spec.. Worn out at 34k and traction is diabolical, even dry. My Kumhos are great in any weather except snow, where they are... Well I hesitate to say adequate. The biggest problem I have with them is starting/stopping. That and the ride could be a little better.

Kumhos generally haven't had the best ratings on CR or Tire Rack.

Kumhos are usually too expensive for used car lots, they usually use Chinese generic. IMO Kumhos are about quality wise near Goodyear and Fuzion for a bit less.

Some of my friends using Kumho or Hankook say they are happy with them. A few months ago when I was asking them about their tires, all said they would buy them again. Good tire & good value seem to be the norm.

(add) few months ago when I went for tires for my RAV-4, I tossed between a set of Kuhmo & Generals. I ended up with General Grabber HTS from the positive reviews I read. Wasn't an easy to decide thing at the time. Maybe Kuhmo on one of the other vehicles next go around.

I usually don't come in this subforum, but I actually brought 4 of those tires about 6 months (or ~8000miles) ago for my camry. I loved them. Good rain traction, okay smooth ride, and minimum wear for under $400 out the door (tax & installation included).

I honestly don't think they'll last as long as my Michelin Destiny tires (~60k miles) and they are not as smooth as them. But for that price I can't complain. I hope they'll last for another 30+k miles.

We just put 4 of these on my mother in laws Nissan. So far so good. She was looking at no brand tires and I gave her the extra money to make up the difference to get these, so compared to what she would have gotten, these have got to be better.

She drives my kids around, cant have them riding on tires with no words!
