hello, i recently acquired a very low hour Toro lawn mower from my parents. he used it 5 times in early 2020 before covid hit and he hired someone to mow his lawn. anyways, i cleaned out the carb/jet and got it running. (ill change the oil tonight with some Delo 5w-40. interestingly enough it says right on the front (NO OIL CHANGES REQUIRED) and they blanked off the drain point.

anyways, id like to see if anyone knows a cross reference for this plug to an iridium plug. thank you!

did you mean dcpr7eix
That would probably work, too, as it's just one heat range colder than a DCPR6Eix. Heat ranges on plugs don't correspond exactly between brands and the cross reference I found listed the DCPR6Eix as the iridium version of the copper NGK plug of the Kohler plug.

Frankly, I'm skeptical that an iridium plug will provide any benefit over a copper one in OPE except perhaps lowering the voltage of the spark which may extend the life of the coil.

i’m not betting it do make a difference, it’s just for the cost at the local store i can bump up to iridium and maybe not have to change it for a while as a bonus

If you're only mowing your own yard you're never going to run enough hours to wear out a conventional plug. Not that other things don't go wrong with them though. The fine point on an iridium may offer easier starting.

90% of my lot is land scaped or pavers, i only have a 15x60’ and 5x60’ sections of grass lol. just don’t want to mess with it again.

installed the dcpr7eix Iridium plug, cleaned the carb with carb cleaner and a tooth brush, dumped half a can of Berrymans in it and filled with Shell Premium gas. mowed like a champ.

Don't waste iridium on a lawn mower till you know it won't foul plugs.
Probably need to go to one or 2 heat range hotter.

i would love to find a denso iridium twin tip in the correct heat range for the mower. i believe the colder heat range plug is causing it to sputter under heavy load (it didn’t with the factory plug….)

Yeah go with factory or hotter or put a high altitude jet in the carb.
