Kohler/Amsoil 10W-50

Since it is so hard to change the oil in most OPE - I mean you need to remove a drain plug and let oil drain into a container then put the drain plug back in, and then to make it even harder - on some engines you need to use a funnel to refill it!!!!

But the worst part -- I might get my hands dirty - I may end up with that black stuff under a fingernail -THE HORROR!!!!

OMFG I change the oil in my OPE and it cost me $5 more a year since I didn't go 300 hours between changes !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Even if you thing ?W50 is the cat's meow -why not change it anyway?
My champion generator has a factory hose extension I can literally remove by hand, meaning I only need a drain pain and a funnel to change it. Changed the factory oil out at 6 hours with Pennzoil 0w30 euro. It's just a backup and we will possibly never use it for anything other than running it a couple of times a year it keep it up. But it could have to start in really cold weather also.

I got the warm fuzzies from all my outdoor power equipment this weekend and my truck too.

I used the 300 hour oil once. I changed it at ~ 100 hrs. . that oil is made by Amsoil. This time I used Amsoil small engine 10w40 that says its good for 200 hours, it was a bunch cheaper. I am using that up then Im going to the Mobil Delo? 15 w 40 full synthetic for 100 hr changes. A lot of people here seem to love it. So far my Kohler 18hp uses 0 oil. almost 400 hrs on it so far.

I have measured the oil hot oil coming out of my riding mower during oil change time, it hit 260f and it probably gets even hotter than that at some points during operation. So my mower gets a 50 weight oil, a 20w-50 because I don't run it during the winter, because it's a lawnmower...
