Kmart prices = outrageous prices

I actually don't mind the K-Mart we have here. I shop there every once in a while. I'd go there more often if it wasn't 10+ minutes away. I have a Meijer only a half of a mile away so I usually just go to that instead.

when I go to the auto section of Walmart its like stepping back into the 80's. I swear all the oil bottles have an inch of dust and cobwebs on them...And the oil is so outdated

Walmart on what planet? Walmart sells more oil than anybody would be my guess. How could it gather dust?
News Flash: Walmart will be adding a super center on Mars in the next year to be prepared for the first Mars mission. They always get a jump on the competion.

All the oil bottles at my local K-mart look like they're about five years old and many have dust on them and are leaky. I'm not kidding, either. The only oil that looked "new" was on a special stand-alone display (Pennzoil conventional). They ought to pare down their oil selection to the bare minimum. Walmart and the Farm & Fleet next door have them whipped.

The last time I tried to buy a filter at Kmart (mid 90s) it looked like someone just unloaded the truck and threw them on the shelf. They were in no order, a total mess. I just walked out.

I don't think I have spent $100 in a Kmart in the last 10 years.

I think MarkC meant to say Kmart.

Then again, Patman's Walmart has a 5qt jug of Mobil 1 15w-50 Tri-Synthetic some time ago...wonder if it's still on the shelf?

Halloween is a bad time to judge a store and a great time to shop by oneself! The employees usually get to dress down and it's a jovial atmosphere just about anywhere. Have done mega-grocery shopping then and it's fantastic!

That said I tried to buy a TV at sears and they wouldn't sell it to me as the warehouse where I'd pick it up closed early... like 5 pm on a weekend!!!

KMart pulled out of here several years ago. We had two stores.

One store was torn down, and they built apartment buildings on the site.

The other store is now a Home Depot, which does just about as much business as the KMart did. I'm shocked that HD hasn't pulled the plug on it yet.

I don't get this thread.

I purchased 5 quart bottles of Pennzoil conventional for 5/$12.

I also purchased Peak Global Lifetime (which, BTW, I've never seen sold ANYWHERE else) for $8.99/gallon.

PureOne Filters are pretty well priced.

Right now their Castrol GTX is on sale but I can't recall the pricing.

What's the problem?

Target and oil don't mix though.

The K-Mart on the north side of Lafayette, LA, was my go-to store for car stuff in the mid- and late Seventies. Bought my air filters, fuel filters, oil and filters, strap wrench, and pan there, and tried half of the fuel or oil additives, too. It was always a busy store . . . but this was long before Wal-Mart.

I still use the red steel toolbox I bought there in 1976.

My dad used to go to K-Mart for automotive tuneup stuff. When I took over the duties, I found deals and stuff cheaper elsewhere, including Murrays - the original store in Redford - and never looked back to K-Mart. I've been going to Murrays since 1975.
