Got the thing apart from my 05 Jetta and waiting on the Transgo repair kit. Kinda reminds me of carburetor rebuilding with all the small bits and different assemblies.

Your balls are much bigger than mine. I've rebuilt transfer cases, motors, but never an AT. Way too many parts for me to lose.

Wait a sec, I dont see that procedure anywhere in the Owners Manual! If i was a manual thumper i would be frozen by fear right now for the risks your taking. But im not so Kudos to you for being capable.

Over hauled my Yamaha YDS3 on my kitchen table; I suppose it could have contributed to my divorce. Oh well some people have no sense of humor.

It's just a valve body, not the whole transmission. It always amazes me how people who would change a timing belt or head gasket wouldn't even do simple repairs on an automatic transmission like replace a solenoid or valve body.

I had the same issues with harsh shifts, I ended up getting a rebuilt valve body. I decided to leave the actual valve body upgrades to the pros. Worked great, till my wife totaled the car 6 months later...
