Costco is selling house brand beer for 17.50 a box of 24. The beer is made locally depending on where you live by small micro breweries. The beer comes in 4 flavors: Pale Ale, Amber Ale, Heffe, and "German Style Lager." I was not impressed by this beer at all. However for the price I had to try it. The beer just does not taste like a quality product. The Heffe wasnt bad at all however.

Has anyone else gave it a shot?

I'm drinking a Pale Ale from Costco as I type. A new Costco just opened a few days ago near me and it was on sale.

Agreed: fairly BLAAAAAAAAAAAH. Tastes like a cheap attempt at quality micro brew.

I'll stick to Natural Ice and Beast Ice for cheap beer.

Yeah, hopefully it will get better I will try it again in a year or two if it still is around.

Ahhhh, here we go again! Name a store and bash it, insinuating that all of their products are made in China.

Wal-mart was the big victim here for quite some time, what with the way they allegedly treated their employees (I've never seen a Wal-mart employee with a gun to their head being forced to work there) and all of the products originating from nowhere but China.

I shopped Costco last week and spent $190 for products, none of which were made (or grown) in China.
I also shopped Dillard's and Macy's department stores, plus the Orvis store, and found the majority of the men's slacks and shirts to have been made in China, according to the label.

For the record, I do not work for nor have any connection to Wal-mart or Costco.

Back on topic: one can only expect a brewery, regardless of size, to use the quality of hops and malts that equates to a beer to be sold for less than $18 per case. Thus, you get $18 per case taste.

Like I said in my first post it is made locally depending on where you live by microbreweries. My box came from San Jose California. Costco has quality items for sale, I have been shoping there for a while.

Also, yes you are correct (poster above me) I cannot expect much more for 18 bucks.

I shop Costco and there is much made in China food products as well as other stuff there. Ditto Walmart. I try as possible not to buy made in China as possible. Everyone can't work at Mcdonalds.

Kirkland beer? No thanks.

For that price, I'll get something with a name brand. This is coming from someone who was drinking pitchers of Natural Light at the bar last night.

You should clarify this a little. By that in NC Natural Light is considered a premium beer. Same price as most others. In Virginia it is considered a cheapo brew like Pabst Blue Ribbon.
I am with the Virginians on this one.
