I am tired just voting against someone, probably be voting libertarian this time. Probably as good as giving the vote to Kerry, but I will not vote for Bush...I'm voting FOR someone this time. Maybe people will get the message eventually...

I totally agree on the border situation and strip searching grannies at airports - pure PC stupidity.

Partiot Act? We started down that road with the crazy way we attack suspected drug users (confiscate their property without a trial, etc.). I am at least happy that suspected terrorists are getting the same treatment as pot smokers. If either deserve it is another question.

Sending jobs out of the country? Can you name one job that President Bush has sent out of the country? Silly rhetoric, as silly as if you blamed job exports on Clinton from 1999 to 2000 when the economy tanked. Trust me - you don't want government deciding which jobs to keep and which to export.

Higher government spending? Way too high in my opinion. Recall that the democrats wanted to spend MUCH MORE on the prescription drug program than the republicans. Every democrat candidate for president detailed a spending agenda that was higher than the current budget.

Based on a long track record, I trust the republicans more than democrats to control spending and maintain or lower taxes. We had to recover from a recession and overcome 9/11, so I am upset about the current level of spending but optimistic that 2004-2008 will see it brought under control. The recession is over, more hiring will fatten the government tax collections, but we still have to win WW-IV.

If we don't win the war, the rest doesn't matter.

None, directly. You are right, I don't want them to have that much power. Doesn't mean their legislation and red tape, taxes, etc can't make it more attractive to run business elsewhere. Because obviously it is.

JohnnyO I checked out that web site you mentioned and that is a sick web site. If people actually believe that nonsense they are sick in the mind.

Anybody who says that there is something wrong with this country can answer for me this question: Why are millions of people from Mexico and other countries trying to get into the United States? If this country is such a sick country then they would be heading the other way.

And in the case of most people who come to this country either legally or illegally, by the third generation they are speaking English. English is the major language in this country. That is not saying that there is something wrong with other languages, but try to get a very high paying job in this country without knowing English.

To a very large extent the United States of America continues to be the light of the world-the hope of a great many people. You do not see millions of people trying to go to very many other countries in the world. So go ahead and laugh, but this country is still a great country.

This has been a common -- and not unreasonable -- belief by many that it's been foreigners (namely Al Queda) coming in as terrorists, and certainly that has been happening. But such assumptions that "It's mainly outsiders orchestrating the attacks" is not only being proven inaccurate, but the theory itself conveniently gives cover to the Bushies who don't want to hear how intervention in Iraq has caused some Iraqis to take up the terrorist cause.

Jason Troxell you are completely correct about the border situation. Neither the Republicans nor the Democrats will do anything about the millions of people crossing illegally into the United States. There are now people in this country demanding that we no longer even use the words 'illegal aliens' to refer to these people. A commentator in my local newspaper said that Mexico was regaining its lost lands-he seemed quite happy about it. Personally myself I don't know who would want to live in Mexico compared to the United States. Millions of people are going to the United States, not Mexico. And every person I have ever met who was actually from Mexico seemed to be pretty happy about being here in America.

The Republicans and Democrats will not do anything about protecting the borders because they are both trying to get the Hispanic vote. Meanwhile millions of people pour into the United States and take jobs from Americans. And according to some border security people there are people from the Middle East in this crowd of people paying $50,000 a piece to get into the United States.

The Republicans do seem kind of heartless to me when they don't worry about the 'out sourcing' of jobs to other countries. But the Democrats may cost us even more when they stop tax cuts and increase taxes, and then waste money on silly social programs that do not work.

And we must stop the terrorists. We may be doing well against them right now but all it takes is another president to ignore the problem of terrorism for the problems to come back. These people will hit us again if they are given the chance.

Even when it comes to the economy I don't see where Kerry has much of a plan. Just doing away with tax cuts for the 'richest Americans' probably is not going to bring that much money in.

Kerry to me seems extremely left wing and kind of socialistic. Am I wrong? How well does this socialistic stuff work in Europe?
