President fell off bike today... Kerry told reporters in front of cameras, 'Did the training wheels fall off?'... Reporters are debating whether to treat it is as on or off the record... Developing...

This tells me all I need to know about Kerry's character....or rather the lack thereof.

I am convinced myself that Kerry does not have character. What you talk about here is just one more indication of that. I am also convinced that Kerry is a pure politician who will say whatever he has to in front of whatever audience he happens to be in front of to get elected.

I believe that President Bush has a vision about what he wants to achieve. I think he has done a pretty good job in the war on terrorism. Iraq may or may not have been a mistake-there may be things we do not know about. Personally I am starting to think that Saddam Hussein while he was still in power was starting to turn over WMD to al Qaeda (that monster who cut off Berg's head was allowed to stay in Iraq and was involved in some sort of chemical research in northern Iraq). And the WMD from Iraq may well have been shipped to Syria.

I would personally myself always vote for the man who has a vision and not the man who is a pure politician.

Kerry was a great admirer of President John Kennedy. I think Kerry needs to take another look at his hero. Kennedy had character. Kerry is a pretender.

Hmmm...sound very similar to the comment former California governor Gray Davis (D) had about a person needing to be able to pronounce the name of the state if he wants to be governor. Does anyone see a pattern here?

The Kerry comment is EXACTLY why after all that's gone on - Kerry is still tied with Bush. Kerry is a hack job, worse than Bush. USA folks would vote Bush out with a drop of the hat, given a decent choice. Kerry is NOT that choice.

The press goes WAY out their way to protect Kerry and he still is sucking dogsh%t. Sure they'll talk up his humble beginnings....but the guy just is not real. He has a back door side that makes Bush's look like patty cake. Oh, Kerry will say ANYTHING to get in office.....

I've said it before - let's draft a REAL leader immediately....it's too late I'm afraid. It's as if the process to find the worst two clowns to duke it out for US President has succeeded. I blame us and I blame us for sucking in our media.

Have a good day.

Did Bush claim "I don't fall that sonofabitch knocked me down" while pointing at his Secret Service agent?

That's what Kerry said after his snowboarding crash(es).

I fully intend to vote for GW Bush again. The guy has had one h#ll of a tough first term and I think he's handled it all quite well. You know where this guy stands on the important stuff. Right now the pro choice crowd is having fits over Kerry's latest waffle on judges. Even his core support elements worry over what he'll do or say. Nobody trusts him.

Told about Bush's mishap, Kerry said, "I hope he's OK. I didn't know the president rode a bike."

I would tend to believe drudrge report, where I found the original quote. The left wing news was deciding how to quote it. Turns out they confirmed their bias yet again.

Ha....that's ironic, because Kerry also fell off his bike not long ago. I guess they both are dummies!

Kerry is defeating himself. There are clearly better choices out their, in both parties. Evan Baye, Lieberman, Joe Biden, John McCain etc. Kerry is not a good canidate and the Dems. know this.

I think we need major changes in how we go about selecting a president (and Congress members as well). The system is broken. Too much money under the table in devious ways and too much money period.

The Democratic Party itself is broken. And I am a Democrat saying this. The party was hijacked by weird people who have strange agendas that the typical American does not even agree with or care about. When the leadership does not reflect the voters something is wacko. The people at the top live in a different world then the average voter.

Right-Wing talk radio guy I listen to (Quinn) is saying that Kerry might not accept the Dem Party nomination at the convention because somehow that would limit his fundraising as per campaign finance reform. Funny, I thought thats what the Dems wanted?

Further, that still leaves the door cracked for Hillary to run this year. Conspiracy nut that I am, I have two beers riding on Hillary running for Prez this year and one beer that she runs for VP, with a Democrat friend of mine. If Bush looks beatable (I think he does) and Kerry doesn't look like he can win (I think he doesn't), she'll run.

Consider this: the press is figuring out how to handle this as an "off the record" story. If that's true, then he's reporting the story as accurate since he would know the internal debating of the press. That's why Drudge is trustworthy. He broke the Lewinsky scandal...

You're saying that Drudge is trustworthy because he considers himself an insider? Drudge's sense of self-importance has no bearing on whether the event actually happened or not.

He broke the "Kerry Intern" scandal too. That turned out to be patently false.

He also broke the Monica and Clinton story. That proved to be correct.

There an echo in here?

The fact that Drudge has made false claims before about Kerry (that border upon slander, BTW) seriously damages his credibility in the matter.

"Being right sometimes" doesn't make a journalist credible.

MR

Here comes that echo again. The Drudge Report became famous because that internet news source was the first to break the Clinton and Monica story. So Drudge does have some sources. He may not always be right, but he sure is sometimes, often before anybody else.

How about the fact that they blamed the mishap on rain when no rain had fallen for about a week prior. How sad of a lie is that? I've fallen off my moutain bike ridign before. I didn't feel the need to blame weather conditions that never occured in the first place.
