Kendall GT1 Max 5W30 NOACK under 10%

I'm not going to call them to ask why they never put their oils on a promotion that draws BITOG members.

Amsoil and HPL Spread The News!
Because they have their market. They make Kendall, Phillip 66, Motorcraft, Honda and Acura oils. Huge Aviation, Agriculture equipment and Diesel (18 wheelers). Also 100,000 per month go to Mecum Auctions which Kendall is the official sponsor. You know how many car dealerships and independent shops use bulk Kendall? In 2022 Kendall had 8% of all fast lube shops.

Kendall GT1 Max and Redline Professional are the same.

Motorcraft is not the same as those two. Nor is P66 Shield products. Motorcraft is Ford’s formula, exclusive to them, simply produced by P66. It’s even a separate distributor contract.

Honda Genuine motor oils (Non-Motorcycle) and P66 Shield (Choice & Armor, depending on syn blend vs full syn) are the same product. And these fall under the P66 distributor agreement. However, a P66 distributor with a Honda contract, cannot sell Honda branded oils to non-Honda dealerships.

Idemitsu still producers Honda Motorcycle oils and a lot of the miscellaneous products for Honda. Just not the automotive engine oils.
100% correct..Also, Professional Series and Kendall is a GRP III/IV mix. Cory told me that sorcefically. Wouldn't say what % but it is.

It’s kinda nice not fighting for Walmart shelf space and a low price point. We can hope it’s a high quality product with no compromise. Of course we will never get all the details.

Great product. No way they make Motorcraft, Acura, Honda and ACDelco oil and sponsored Mecum auctions and put out a mediocre oil. I also found out they formulate from their own labs their mixture of additives then order them. They don't do "standard" add packs from Afton or Inferium etc.. 145 years of making motor oil and not a single issue. I'll take a product that speaks for itself anyway over a mass marketed Valvoline, Mobil, Castrol etc. Why? Because they just want to able a solid product the mass mechanics and car OEMS want.

Where did you see this? That is quite a feat.

Which part? Go to Redline Oil website and look at Professional Series. Says Grp 3 and 4. Them making Honda, Acura and Acdelco look at DEXOS license website for manufacturing. Having some Grp 4 is from calling Redline tech line. They told me today they don't use a standard add pack they test in their lab then order additives based off that test. You can calm as easy as I did don't take my word for it.

Base stock sure. I was asking about the additive package.

I’m the largest Kendall Distributor in the U.S.

Currently their marketing team consists of a paper bag and a banana. But the banana is retiring soon. (This part is a joke. But they are terrible at marketing.)

Foxtrot08:

No attack toward you, but, inquiring minds want to know.

If you’re the largest Kendall (D)istributor in the U.S., and Kendall is terrible at marketing, tell us your secret as to how you became the Big Kahuna of distribution, especially in the current era of supply chain issues.

Admittedly, I haven’t seen any Kendall distributors in my travels; just one about nine miles away from me at WKRP…….

Because we’re really good at selling products. Companies buy from us because of our service and value add. Not particularly the exact brand of products we sell.

On top of that, Pre-2019 when they had a really good marketing manager, we had a really good regional manager, and a really, really, really good CSR team, with great pricing, it felt like they had their stuff together.

Post 2020, supply chain issues, retirements, people quitting, etc. that has all fall apart.

No, it's not. It's what they can do in the current market. Their goal, as any other profit making company, is to be on that left box.
What's the fixation on rooting for the underdogs?

What? You mean telling everyone how their entire marketing department quit or retired is brand interest? And how their leadership on the lubricants side is retiring, inspires confidence?

I’m confused.
I'm confused by your reply. I don't know what you're talking about. Who quit and who retired?

Honestly I think it’s from growing up and living in a small country town of 1500 people. I’m use to going to the local hardware store, sporting store, country store, etc. At least the ones that are left. I do occasionally go to Walmart or AAP for oil and filters. I enjoy buying online from Amsoil and HPL as well.

P66 is very focused on their OEM business and regards going after shelf space, essentially competing with themselves.

I already mentioned motorcraft and Honda. You then have part of John Deere (Always a 3 way split), Part of GM (some factory fill), Komatsu US, and many, many other brands. (There was a secret list that you could see online at one point. But they closed that back door down. It was all the SDS sheets with the OEMs name on them.)

Why? Because it’s inexpensive. You don’t need marketing. You don’t need customer service reps. You don’t need technical support for your distributors. You don’t need huge advertising dollars. You don’t need to price fight for shelf space.

All the majors have their own little niche in a way. P66’s currently, is OEM direct business.

Edit: Exception of course to redline. Redline is their shelf space “brand” when it comes to racing stores, high end automotive parts stores, etc.
