Around here Kendall has been relitivly easy to get.I have been buying it from the same place for 25 years.

The Store / Warehouse I bought it from actually went to the trouble of buying only the East Coast blended Kendall. They hired a trucker to make these trips as they were convinced that there was a difference VS the West Coast blended Kendall.Due to politics , That changed in the 1980's and they could only purchase West Coast oil. Many people swore there was a difference and others couldnt tell.I couldnt tell the difference... But I always did 2000 mile oil changes so it probably wouldnt have showed up anyways...

I belive it was April of 2002 Kendall made a big change in formulation and even took out the green dye... Does not look , feel or smell the same...Not that that means anything...

So since I am new to this site and checking these oils out and since Kendall is somewhat hard to find in other parts of the country and seems under represented here I figured since I had some anyway I would see what was up with it.

You know something Calvin, I heard the same thing. I don't know if I ever even used Kendall oil, but I heard that the Kendall available in the eastern USA was much higher in quality than the Kendall available in the western USA. I guess that is the reason I never tried it-the western stuff was supposed to be poorer in quality. But the story was that the eastern stuff was great.

Mystic,

I think that the old eastern oil of 20 years ago was a Pennsylvania oil... Back when I guess that really meant something.I have no proof but the way many people talked about the old Kendall it seemed to be a superior oil.Thats pretty much what got me started with it.

I have been useing Kendall in my new car but I am changing to the Chevron Supreme after all I read here of the used oil analysis and now the VOA's and the general positive talk about it here.I am not saying the Kendall is inferior but since the sale of the company and all the changes I dont know where they plan on going with it.

Calvin, kind of the same situation with me. I used to hear a lot of great stuff about Mystik motor oil. My Dad, who was a really good mechanic, told me it was good oil, but he used Conoco because it was cheaper. I know a man still working as a mechanic (83 years old) who will not use anything else in a customer's car unless the customer brings in another brand. However, I only used Mystik a few times.

I may well have started to use Mystik all the time, but when I found this site I could find no information on how good (or poor) Mystik is. I decided to go with Chevron Supreme (which ran great in my car) and later Schaeffer's oil.
