Just finished my cross country drive decided to buy 5 quarts of this at a flying j truck stop as i was intrigued by the brand for sometime. I looked at the voa on pqias website its seems to be great stuff. What do you guys think does it get the bitogers seal of approval?

Well unless you got it for BOGO, had some huge rebate, or got it on sale most people will say you over paid even without knowing the price.

Seriously though Kendall in general is great oil. Should serve you well. That blend will be very similar to the BITOG favorite Motorcraft syn blend.

I use the 5W20 flavor in my 2010 Fusion & 2012 Veloster @ $3.70/qt. Since I've had impressive results previously using MC for many years, figured I could gain some enhanced results with the titanium clone formulation from Conoco/Phillips 66.

Actually, an enduring loyalty to Kendall dates to the 1950s in my Indiana teens.

That oil, and just about any from ConocoPhilips are good choices.

I used dirt cheap Trop Artic (a similar Semi-Syn) for years in my last car, a Supercharged Bonneville. Had some of the best UOAs using that oil, even at 7,000-9,000 mile drain intervals.

I paid 3.99 a quart for it at a flying j in nebraska, more than id like to pay but curiosity got the best of me and where i live i never seen it in any stores. But then again 3.99 a quart really is not all that expensive.

I always wanted to try it too. Nearly bought some at a Pilot truck stop where it was priced at $3.99 a quart, no steal but on a nearly impossible oil to find definitely tempting and certainly not a rip off.

It's a motor oil by Conoco-Philips that used to be widely available at Wal-Mart. In the last ten years things changed and now it's hard to find. I've found it at some local farm/fleet stores while living in Illinois, but not in the year or so since moving to Colorado. When it's found it's dirt cheap, and performs as good or better than the brand name stuff IMO.

Used to use the brand a lot but it became hard to find. I found a distributor and bought 3 cases some time back at a really good price and now using it in 3 of 4 vehicles. Some of the Autozone stores carry it around here but the price the distributor gave me beat any sale price I have seen. I got it for less than $3 per quart.

I knew price would come in eventually.

Trop Artic is very similar to Motorcraft, it just sells for much, much less than Motorcraft. The trick is finding it, around here it can be had at Orshelns Farm store cheap and that's about it.

Kendall is the cousin of those two but has a different, arguably stouter add pack and is CP's top brand line.

I get the kendall synblend for under $3/qt. The full synthetic I got for $4/qt. It is my go to lube, that is unless I can get some almost FAR oil .

So does some company besides Phillips 66 offer Tropartic ?

Yes my local Sam's has it. There are a couple of local mom and pop stores that carry it around here.

It is actually just as easy to find around here Trop Artic as Kendall. The only place that I seen Kendall sold around here is Pep Boys at 5.99 a quart.

Trop Artic is a bit harder to find. The farm + fleet store chains usually have it. In MO, you should see Kendall, a close cousin to Trop Artic at Autozone for about $4-5 a quart.

All of the Pepboys up here stopped carrying it about a year and a half or so ago. They told me the company stopped carrying that brand. Next time you are at a local PB see if they still have Kendall( new stock not old leftover stuff )and report back to BITOG if they do. If so that means the ones up here, and other locations, can get it too.
