Hello people I just bought a new zero turn with a 23 up Kawasaki engine.. & was wondering about what oil to us in it...NOW..I have read the manual..but my BEEF IS i have 2 ride on mowers twin cylinders.. that I have used 5 W 30 CASTROL OIL.IN THEM BOTH..with well over 1300 hrs on them no issues at all..the coldest in the spring would be 10© to the hottest 75 © in the summer ..anybody out their using different oils other than what is specified.??

The manual is a guide, and you shouldn't deviate too much while under warranty.
What oil is specified?
1300 Hours on your Mowers, keep doing what you are doing.
75C?? I thought it got hot down here in the lower 48! That’s 165F!

Wound up with a couple jugs of surplus Philips 25w60.. Well, it is aircooled. Just give it a minute or two to come up to temperature.
30 weight.. Its just expensive.. I know the mower is too..but 5 w 30..has worked but I have never has a Kawasaki motor before..!!

With the temps in the AP - seems 5/30 is just fine …
30 weight.. I just like buying the 5 liter jugs..cheaper..
Syn 10w-40 in all your mowers,simplify and never look back.Your over thinking this
I generally run a 10W30 because, although the temps can get into the 90’s I’m not out there mowing the lawn.

If you're rarely above 75 deg F, an XW-40 is the highest viscosity you're ever gonna need.
