Anyone on this board had any experience with Kart racing. I met a guy this morning that has three son's that race. All of them in different Briggs & Stratton classes. His racing shed is stocked with all different kinds of special kart racing oils. Most of them named FHS. He has lite, medium, heavy in all different names and colors. Even uses some as a 2-cycle mix. There are no SAE grades on any of the bottles, just lite, medium, and heavy. He could not tell me what the weights were, just what he uses each for.

Just curious.

I was involved with WKA kart racing for about 12 years. We ran gallons and gallons of FHS and Cool Power oils. The light is around a 10 weight oil and we changed it twice per race night. One advantage of dedicated kart oils is they burn very clean since a very loose oil ring is typically used to reduce drag. Any other questions, fire away.
