Thanks for looking guys, I log on here every few years cause I know their is some real credible info on here. I understand how important oil and filtration is, so when I am doing something out of norm, I like to run it by you.
I am putting a new engine in an off road race truck. Its chevy's crate LSX454. I am running a top speed pan with no filter in the factory location. The external filter is set up for a K&N PS-3002. Previous engine was a big block. I googled LSX454 requirements and think I read 10 micron, I googled the PS-3002 and it says 10 micron, so I think im good there. However one search pulled up the PS-3001 (a similar filter with different threads) and on summit it shows relief valve at 8-11PSI? That doesn't even make sense to me but again I don't claim to be knowledgeable on these topics. I just want to make sure the K&N PS-3002 will filter to the right level micron, and not bypass, with this setup. Standard LS oil pressures 30-90 psi in various race conditions.
Thanks as always for the expertise and opinions!
