k&n /general motors maf contamination

its a myth about k&n and other cotton oiled filters..i learned last weekend that k&n and general motors did oiling tests and dust tests that far exceed any standards and showed no oil contamination on mafs...i heard it on the news...i wish there was a write up on this study

they said that these filters were good for the environment...iam abit skeptical about the above i would like to see some proof about the study.

Its not a myth. the problem is people way over-oil them
after cleaning. Not that they contaminate straight out of the box new

true, i never do any oiling whatsoever.i just buy a new one...these companies say they use a computer to apply the oil....i would never trust myself to do that....

Cleaning is a PITA.

I tried them in the past but its not worth the time and energy. I went back the stock filters and then switched the EAA filters in some of my fleet they had them available. Similar cost but nothing to oil.
