Bad luck I tells ya!

No, really, a teenaged girl ran a stop at a blind place (never even looked that way...just blew through looking in the opposite direction and got T-boned :| Sucky day. I really liked that old heap. Everyone wore seat belts and everyone is okay.

*grumble* I put on new brakes, full M1 oil and filter change, Redline gear oil for the trans, many other new little bits....most of them only a week ago...and to top it off, we were on our way back from the gas station where I put $25 into it....

Dude that sucks! But don't sweat it i am sure that the local junk yards will have all the parts for you to fix it up again.
And if they don't aftermarket body parts are available at a good price.

Looks like it was washed and waxed too. Rent one of those Rent-a-Wrecks for a few days and drive and park with full abandon to blow off some steam. (Just kiddin')

Gentlemen ...we remove our hats and bow our heads in silence for the falling of another fully functional beater. Struck down before its time. It gave selflessly and asked no more than its due. It offered no apoligies and made no excuses. So reliable ...so obedient. Though its wounds were not mortal, its life lost meaning after this senseless and tragic event.

Seriously, though, I'm glad you're OK. If you're fixing it, good luck getting it back on the road quickly, otherwise I hope you find a suitable replacement very soon.

But funny!!

I don't know yet, but I'm counting on a total :|

Glad your okay. Funny how stuff like that happens right after you put some kind of money into the car. My dad was going to trade his car in and had a deal worked on a new one. The day he was going to take delivery on the new one, he filled it up with gas (the dealership where the deal was worked was 1 state over). He went inside and paid for the gas ($38) and when he got back in the car and put it in gear the transmission crapped out. It moved 10 feet and wouldnt go anywhere else. He ended up trading it in at the dealership across the street from the gas station.

Looks like the car will likely be totalled out and the fault will be on her side more than anything.

I've already found a beater to replace it! An '86 Volvo 240 with 266k on the clock! Its running dino oil and a Mann filter, for the curious out there
