What a crock of stuff they told me. I was calling to ask them if their Valvoline All Climate contains any seal conditioners perhaps in a lesser amount compared to their Maxlife. I just had to ask them because the Mobil rep advised that their Mobil 5000 conventional does in fact have a certain amount of seal conditioners.

This rep began to go on and on about Maxlife and how it can extend engine life and performance. I felt like I was listening to a commercial. He did tell me that the All Climate contains ZERO seal conditioners and that I have to use Maxlife to get that in the oil.

After this conversation, I'm really beginning to think that Mobil has their act together, and perhaps have a better product if their conventional oil does in fact have these conditioners in them.

Does anyone know if other conventional brands besides Mobil 5000 have seal conditioners as an additive?

You are also assuming that the Mobil rep knew what he was talking about.

I would think that most if not all of the High Mileage branded oils push this as benefit? I don't think I've read or seen a non High Mileage oil touting this. Mobil has their own High Mileage oil...in fact they even say this on their site:

Mobil Clean High Mileage motor oil provides the same boosted cleaning performance as Mobil Clean 5000 to help control the formation of sludge and harmful deposits, and to keep engines cleaner longer.

Sounds like it to me that it is the same stuff as 5000 with the added seal conditioners

Why wouldn't you just use WM Maxlife for 10.50 for 5 qts in a case?

Terry Dyson suggested that the difference between a conventional oil and an High Mileage oil is 50 cents or so.

Yes ive also called valvoline AND mobil, and mobil had much frendlier customer service, I won't be buying valvoline, i just have a bad impression of them, something about them i don't like- although basiclly giving away oil is quite nice of them. Im going to switch to mobli 7500 from Valvoline all climate.
