Juice Machines

Of course I know who Jack LaLane is - I grew up with him on the tube in 1960's. He was about 80 years old then, just looked 20. The man is quite amazing...he must be older than a couple of the continents. I've never seen him advertising the juicer that's all. (which I'm sure he does with vigor!)

Jack Lalane lives in the next town over from me (Morro Bay, Calif). He still has a TV spot where he shows old folks how to exercise. He and his wife show the exercises then one of them messes it up and the argue like typical old folks.

These days we use a Breville juicer more,it has more pulp capacity,is easy to use and clean. And we will throw it away when it breaks down as with all appliances these days....unlike the Champion which will nearly go forever.

That is what we have. My wife makes about three days worth at a time, we put it in glass bottles with no air. Works great.

Morning sickness?

HAHAHA - Nice.

In the last 15+ years I've had 2 or 3 Champions, an Acme Juicerator, a Le'Quip (I didn't like), a Juiceman Jr, and lastly a Jack LaLanne.

I think the LaLanne is a fine machine for the money. I got mine new for $40 shipped (eBay deal). Even for $100 it's still a good deal IMHO, cost wise.

I'm selling mine. My Juicer on eBay I think I'm through with juicing. I haven't juiced in months. Tired of throwing pulp away, cleaning up, etc. I prefer to eat whole foods.

Personally I believe eating whole food is healthier. I do drink juice at times but it's frozen pineapple juice concentrate mixed with pure water.

PS - I'm not putting juicing down, I'm just saying that I haven't used my juicer in months and decided it might as well be sold.

I bought a refurb KitchenAid food processor to take it's place.

I juice citrus reason there is too much of it and get tired of eating it. I usually give at least half of it away. Trade it for other fruits.

Neighbor's daughter loves the Oro Blanco. Seems she can't get enough of it. When it ripens you've got so much fruits it's impossible to eat it all.

One season I was picking 30-50 tangerines just about every day weird weather pattern. Following year 1/4 production.

My wife just bought a 200 dollar "emulsifier." I about threw up. It's nothing but a glorified blender. Dang infomercials.

Anyway - yes it makes juice very well. And no, we don't stop eating whole veggies and fruits. But man a carrot lime juice in the AM is just awesome.

It's a bit of a messy thing, but cleaning it goes quick - the teens seem to juice and walk away....unh-uh - you use it, you clean it.....ah dad........

The pulp goes into the yard waste bin for mulch.

Fun stuff with spinach, celery, ginger etc.......raspberries out of the freezer (need to thaw a bit)....here's a weird one, but really good - beets and raspberries, with a sliver of lemon.

Obviously my first encounter with a juicer. I'm sure the novelty will wear off.

We have one of those too and it's great. Just line the receptor with a plastic bag and cleaning is more easy.
