John deere 318 keeps throwing belt

But only on the outside of the belt right?

I cant see it making any difference on the inside.

The inside of the belt was larger than the bottom of the pulley groove, the same was true of the driven pulley on the jack shieve.. This what wore out the pulleys too. They got razor thin.

It does the same on both sheaves so no increase in speed.

But then the deck belt is smaller and sits in closer.

I think what jhellwig is saying, if the belt is sitting higher or lower in the pulleys, it will do so on both the drive and driven pulley. That will result in no change in the speed the blades are driven.
