JLR Boss Who Gambled On Jaguar’s Rebrand Just Walked Away | Carscoops

It was a high-risk move, but if he could make JLR the Subaru of an affluent demographic, it might have paid off. Not sure anyone else had a feasible plan.

The short scoop Jaguar Land Rover group head is "Walking Away" = Retirement.

Never heard of the guy personally. I thought India bought the brand long time ago after Ford dumped them.

Interestingly Subaru somehow manages to appeal to affluent too. My daughter got picked up in Outback staying with friends grandma who summers in $33m Nantucket “cottage”.

Yes, Subaru does an outstanding job in its marketing of very specific demographics.

Lots of case studies could be done on Subaru very successful marketing of its vehicles to specific demographics of North American consumers.

Ànd people continue to buy them. Must really like the free coffee in the dealers waiting room.
238k and counting on my LR3. hasn't seen a dealer since 2010. Stock drivetrain. Mostly stock suspension (more stock suspension than any of my Jeeps have left). most of the haters have never owned one. Favorite vehicle of all time, nothing comes close. People get 400k easy out of them. Newer ones aren't as good as the "old" ones, but the 17 Disco has been good too.
