I really didn't know the answer, but for some reason, I was thinking (Jiffy Lube oil filters) were made by Purolator?

i used to work at a jiffy lube. i worked at two, one had pennzoil (frams) and the other had mileguard (frams). i cut open i mileguard to confirm this.

They can't be too bad. On my work truck I usually take it to the girls @ huffy lube (jiffy) and get the oil taken care of. Company pays so thats their deal.....

Oil is 5w20, with their filter. Use typically sees 80% highway, 10% stop-go, 10% extremely hard driving (0-80mph as fast as it can go to merge back into traffic)

All the above plus 12+ hours per day of run time, and the majority is sitting idle.

It still runs. Every 3k is the oil, company requested eveyr 5k until I showed them an oil analysis that said the oil should have been changed 3000 miles ago..lol That suggests every 2k changes which would be every 3 weeks.

no they are not that bad. an engine with a fram on it can last a really long time, my dads old acclaim is proof at 185000 miles. but there are better for the same or less that is why i choose not to use them. that is all i see it as.

and why do you say you "take it to the girls @ huffy lube" how am i or them girls, unless they actually are females.

be more concerned with the ability of their employees. a friend had a engine destroyed when the drain plug was not put back in.

they offer 5w20, 5w30, 10w30, 15w40 in dino oils. i only assume that the 15w40 is a hdeo. i never saw specs on it. at one jiffy lube i had been at used pennzoil long life. the other just was labeled pennzoil and another was labeled exxon. there was no specific labels except for the long life at the one store.

ted you are right. that is the biggest issue. if the facility does not follow procedures it is very easy for stuff like that to happen. if every thing is followed to the dot then it is very hard to have situations like that.
