Jeep YJ part compatibility.

I have a 91 YJ, 4.0, AX15, but it has 3.08 gears. For the most part, it works fine, but i would like some lower gears............

So the question is: Dana 30 is a dana 30 on the inside correct? Dana 35 is internally the same as any dana 35 correct.????

I have an opportunity to buy another YJ, for cheap. It has the 2.5 which from the factory, has 4.10 gears..........can the carriers and ring and pinion be swapped to any dana 30/35?

I know that there are differences in the frame and mounting locations, but INSIDE, it should be just a straight swap?

Man.... ITs been a long time since I talked YJ and TJ! But jeepforum.com (if you're not a member list Wsar10 as your reference) is the (used to be) place to be for this type of info

The only thing that I remember, and again its been 20+ years since I've had anything but and XJ, ZJ or WJ, was there something about a Low or High pinion mount. I cant remember... But I do remember that some of these were CI housings and others were Aluminum, I also remember that it was really easy to the FORD 9.9 swap on these which also gave you rear disc breaks with the same bolt pattern for wheels.

Yes, that should all swap over since it is from another YJ.
