Jeep Wrangler tires recommendations

Does the weight of a tire matter? My son's Jeep will be on the road nearly always. (Kids his generation like the look of a Jeep, but aren't really into off roading, maybe an occasional drive on a beach.) The Falken AT3Ws are five pounds a tire less than a Michelin LT X MS2 (42 lbs vs 47 lbs.) It seems that five pounds on each wheel would greatly reduce the unsprung to sprung weight ratio and maybe give a little smoother ride than the current see-saw .

Nankang AT-5 Great tire at a great price. Check it out

I thought this might have been a joke since tires made in PRC are known to be pretty crappy but apparently Nankangs are made in Taiwan.

Not a Jeep, but I have BFG KO2’s in 265/70r17 on my Ram and they’re fantastic. I have the C load range, they ride a little firmer than the stock Goodyear SR-A’s but they’re quiet and absolutely annhilate those awful Goodyears in all weather condition.

i had issues with milder AT tires chunking badly on my gravel driveway, in comparison the KO2's will take a beating for sure.

In December of 2015 I bought a set of BFG KM2's for my Daughter's 2012 Wrangler. We upgraded to 285/70/17 tires. Those tires got her thru High School College, and now in the working world. Those Tires have been Awesome!
