God bless the 4.0. High on the list of all time most reliable engines. Got oil? Put it in, they are not too not to picky.

Most reports showed that thicker,Heavy duty engine oils showed lower iron wear.Why? who knows but that's what I use and it quiets down the ole' tractor motor a pinch also.Rotella,Delvac,Amsoil in the 5W-40 flavors work great in used oil tests

Hello, Just changed my sister's 1999 Cherokee's 4.0 I6 oil, all PCV hardware and VC gasket today. 10W-30 jug specials since she bought it @78K. 148,850 miles today and CLEAN under the valve cover. If it's cold next time, I'll try a load of 5W-30. At this vehicle's age I know the diffs and Xfer case need changing. The running gear was cleaned and refilled 65K ago. I wonder if a 75-110 would serve the young lady; the Jeep, I mean, well I'd love to know if any "super gear oil" is out there. Kira
