I do not understand the bias against Chrysler/Stellantis.

You just learn to roll your eyes... 99% of them either had a one 20+ years ago or bought something used hard and put away wet. And any brand, including darling Toyota, is an absolute crapshoot post 2020.

I personally can't hear them over my 165k mile Challenger's V8

Chrysler products are junk. The buying public proves this because sales don't lie. Stallantis sales are in the toilet and world wide too. Their dealerships are slammed with massive inventories because few want to buy their junk. I think your problem is that you are loyal to a brand, and not to quality. So you double-down on your insults of ConsmerReports and those who attack Stallantis and for good reason.

Well OK BUT
I had 5 (FIVE) Japanese cars that CU told me were great, and guess what, every one had some pain in the rear problem that was hard to solve, or impossible
The comparison between the 98 Subaru OB (blew head gaskets 2x in 180,000 miles) and the '98 Jeep Grand 4.0 (no engine mechanical work done at 185,000 miles) is pretty stark
We have a 17 Wrangler that's at 151,000 miles, only big repair was the clutch but that's expected.
Also have an 07 Grand Hemi 5.7 with no major repairs @ 135,000 miles
Take a good look at how CU calculates it's tables, yes I still read them but not one of my Japanese cars was ever as good as they claimed.

My 2016 Compass is nothing fancy, but the 5-speed manual does a lot vs. the CVT or automatic to make it more fun and avoid some of the driveline complaints. Also gets mid-20s mileage mixed driving, can get 30 mpg on a good day on rural highway.

Two employees of mine, and my best friends sister, drive a Compass.
All three love theirs, and have not had any major problems.

2017.5 Jeep Compass Trailhawk 250,000 miles, no leaks, uses no oil, 0W20 Pennzoil Syn or Quaker State Synthetic since new. 5000 to 7000 mile oil changes since new. Going to keep driving it till quits.
