Looking at replacing the 2015 Pilot this spring. It's at 123,000 miles, but it's starting to nickle and dime, and the tin worm is starting to show up around the rear fenders. Wife likes the Jeep Compass, and there are a few low mile used ones we've bookmarked. Not seeing any huge issues, and seems to be a decent vehicle. Wouldn't rule out another Pilot, though the used ones are still expensive. Thoughts?

I've had them as rentals, I really like them. The 2.0T is great and it has a real transmission. I'd consider one if the price was right.

I drive them all day at our Jeep dealership. Quite a few out as loaners too. No issues to report that I know of. Check out new. Dealers have quite a few on lot and I expect some good deals to be had. If not now, March might bring some good discounts. They compete with new 2026 Cherokee pricing, which isn't going to hold long term.

My wife bought a 2025 in October. Nice vehicle, I hate the touchscreen, but that would be any new vehicle.
Drives very nicely, 4wd works well in snow even with the all season tires. Nice interior, heated seats and steering wheel.
$32K out the door, including tax, reg, etc.

If you're looking for something smaller, get an HR-V instead. Honda's CVT is actually good, and the HRV is non-turbo, and it didn't have DI until 2026.

Honda is much better than any Jeep :D

And make sure you get rustproofing done on your new car, so it doesn't rust like your Pilot!

Carmax….bought an ‘11 Lexus GX 460 from these guys in January’20

Seamless deal…high book yes…95K miles

Six years later and wife still has it…156K miles now

We needed to rent a car recently and the choices were a Compass or an Escape. The car rental lady pointed us towards the Escape. The Escape was surprisingly nice. Not as nice a RAV4, but much nicer than I expected. I'd look at keeping your Pilot.

Had a Renegade and have had probably 7 or 8 compasses as rentals. Good vehicles for on road/snow, ended up getting rid of the Renegade since it couldn't handle any water off road. 3 PTUs in 27k miles. Bought the Wrangler to replace it.

Any product from Stellantis is a questionable choice these days. Problems start with terrible supply chain for parts and corners cut in production quality every chance they can. Hopefully their problems will improve with the replacement of their previous leadership. The worst thing that has happened to any car company is when a European company tries to out think common logic (Nissan & Chrysler) and run a once decent product into the ground. Beware.

The 2026 Ford Escape ST Line is a hybrid with all wheel drive. It comes standard with a mini spare tire. The ICE engine is the 2.5 Atkinson Cycle engine and it's very reliable. The E-CTV transmission is very good and based on a Toyota design.

Ah yes, the company that was beacon of success and quality.
