Hopefully, they will be able to determine whether it is just a few rogue animals or an actual small population in Arizona.

The Mexican big cat sighting is a bit of a surprise.

You can support Jaguar conservation through the purchase of its namesake automobile, or skip the middleman and donate directly here:

There have been sightings of jaguars up through E. Texas, but because a TPW person hasn't seen them, they aren't official.
Sorta like bigfoot .

Black bears are starting to make a comeback in the piney woods also.

Bears have been reestablished here and have done very well. They show up on golf courses and in backyards.

Can't imagine a Jaguar roaming this far north - they would like the summers, but winter would do them in. Might help cut down on the Deer population if we could get a big predator back.

Arkansas Game and Fish Commission says that we have no Cougars here, but there are so many sightings the only real question in my mind is whether or not the sightings are of pets that have gotten loose, or a wild population.

There are still some pretty wild places left around here.

Heck, cougars have been sighted on the SW side if the Kansas City metro several times. They must be feeding on the excess deer population.

Sometime last year, an elderly lady in my neighborhood called the police to report a sighting of a black panther roaming the area around dusk. Several of the neighbors were spooked for a few days, until it was learned that the "panther" was actually a black Great Dane, that someone in the neighborhood keeps indoors, but lets run loose around dusk to do it's business, then it comes back indoors.
