I have an 03 x-type with 68,000 miles on the clock. I have been running 10w-30 amsoil and have now seen that new 0w-40 european mobile one. Now im confused lol which one should I use?

Have you been running the 10W-30 Amsoil for all of those 68K? Does is use any oil? If it's been working for 68K, no reason to change now. But, if you want to go the 40W route, Amsoil makes a 5W-40 European Formula.

I have used everything from 0w-20 to 5w-40 in my S-type and my engine feels the most responsive with mobil 0w-20 then PP 5w-20, then mobil 0w-30.

Whichever one makes you 'feel good'. They will both protect your engine just fine.

The 2.5 and 3.0 are Ford Duratec's in the X-Type. It probably calls for 5W-30. The newer Duratec 3.0L's call for 5W-20. You can probaly get better gas mileage with a thinner oil in that engine.
