Same here. In this neck of the wood jacking on the pinch welds can be really iffy, the jack just might go though the rocker panel.

I've done this too with similar results. Works well with no complaints.

But technically, wouldn't you want the pinch weld perpendicular to the grain? I would think if it was to split, it would be parallel to the grain.

Good observation nonetheless. I never considered it before.
