That's OK Brother.
Thank you for your wishes!

Regardless of whether or not you change it, it would be a good idea to carry along an extra quart for topping off. And check the oil level every couple of thousand miles.

Nope, no DI motor in this one, not yet! Maybe next gen.
Yep, got the Havoline on sale as I did for all my oils. It's already in the drain pan.

Already changed it as this was the consensus of the team.

And Thanks for the tip. I alway carry extra fluids in the trunk in case of emergencies.

No unfortunately, they're still at 5K in the owner's manual and still under warranty. I've change it now.

Thanks all,

Indeed and thanks for your comment(s).

I also checked the CVT fluid(I know, I know). I made my own sort'a dipstick just to reach down through the transmission filler tube and reach the fluid and get an idea of what is FULL...not that I'd really know. But, I want to make my own baseline of what is full on level ground as these current Altima's have NO transmission dipstick.

The CVT fluid looked fantastic as it was a nice & clear with a slight greenish hue to it with NO particular smell to it that I could tell with my runny nose(34 degs F outside).

Although most say to change the CVT(or any transmission fluid) at ~ 30K miles, which I typically do. However, Nissan doesn't require any maintenance til 60K miles. I'll do it before 60K miles(maybe this summer) as I am at 36K now.

Well, that's it for now. Tires & brakes are great as are all fluids and I'll bring some extra fluids with me for security.

Thanks Team,

CB

The killer for extending the OCI on this car is the warranty. A 5000 OCI is short but if that is what your manual; states you sort of have little choice at this point. Now or when you get to Fla

Right, and I'd rather do it myself.

My Grand Caravan is the same. There is a dipstick tube in the transmission, but it is capped off. I used the engine oil dipstick to measure cold and hot levels and since the dipstick is dark sheet metal, I was able to use inscribe the levels with a sharp tool. Works great and I always have it at hand.

Right, I just have a plug/caped off. Have to use a small flathead screwdriver in order to remove the cap/tab, only to find, NO DIPSTICK. I just want to get a baseline for what would be(about) my normal fluid level. In the future, I'll make a better dipstick or buy the previous generation Altima's('07-'12) CVT dipstick which to my understanding, fits my generation and can give a good baseline of CVT fluid level.
