Why would we have a tsunami on the Atlantic? We're about as geo stable as you can get. The mountain chain on our side is eroding ..not still growing. Is there some cental Atlantic (in the middle of the ocean) plate activity??

Not too much environmental lottery for most of the east coast. FLA? That's a different story.

For most of the Mid Atlantic on up ..you have to exceed the 500 oe 1000 year flood plane to do any real damage.

Ya'll remember the Madrid Earthquake prediction back in '90 or '91 and how everyone said it was going to happen. Even here on Fort Sill, we had hazmat teams all loaded up and ready to roll the day before. I couldn't believe that. What a bunch of hooey.

I had forgotten about that one. It was also supposed to rattle much of the midwest, including Iowa. We didn't take that one too seriously either.

GM, Hurricane Katrina will hit the Gulf Coast on 8/29/05. Govt types here had a preparedeness drill today for the 2006 season called Hurricane Alicia, Cat 4, I believe. Part of the scenario had the nuclear plant on the mighty Mississippi at Taft having difficulties as well. Barn door after the horse, etc. Bar code bracelets to assist evacuation, etc. I feel much better already. Saw a Ruger GP-100 .357 at the local gun shop the other day but passed on purchase. I knew I should have held back on some of that Red Cross debit card from K. I thought I heard a blurb on Headline News this afternoon that human to human transmission of bird flu was reported in Indonesia. Reckon Iowa will be OK if true? I live for catastrophic thinking.

The article says he thinks a comet will strike and cause the tsunami.

If you check the forums there are also places where he says that extraterrestrials told him it was going to happen as well.
