Acually had a whole weekend free for oil changes this is what I did

Sisters RSX
4.5 qts of Valvoline Synpower with Napa Gold filter

Friends Corolla
homebrew of 2qts of Synpower and 2qts of Castrol Startup with Napa Gold

My Acura TL
5qts of Royal Purple and Napa Gold

Wow! How long does that take you?
Any shortcuts?

ps OT: my first car was the original $4995 Hyundai Excel. Still proud I bought it with my own money & drove it throughout college.

Not too long. When I did the Corolla and RSX it took 30 mins each. I let the oil drain for 20 mins on both. Change filter and done.

On my TL it took 1.5 hours. First I let the oil drain, then fixed my hanger for my headers. Then reinstalled my intake wiht my new AEM Dryflow filter, old oil filter off. and reinstall all.

The Best is doing our suburban. No lifting, just go under and drain. 15 mins top.

This weekend its time to change the oil in the suburban. Proablly just take my odd bottles and make a brew. Any thing negative on the Q 4x4 thats on sale right now? I have never used Q and will be mixing with Valvoline Con.

If that was my kid there would be a VERY big shoe print on his butt after I was done kicking him, and he'd be walking or taking the bus to school every day. Spoiled brat!

You're a much kinder/gentler dad than I would be! My swift kick to the same anatomical place would be so hard and deep the result would be a trip to the emergency room to have my foot surgically removed! Yes, indeed...life is so tough these days.

Back on topic: I didn't change my oil or anyone else's oil this past weekend. But I did fondle several bottles of my 5w30 oil stash.

How do you like the synpower? I got about 30qrts at bogo and undecided if I will run them or not. Right now I am doing 3qrts Pennzoil 5w30 1.5qrts Pennzoil Platinum 5w30 and will just be sticking with 5K intervals. Figure it will be a waste to run Full Synthetic for 5K but might do a couple of 10K oci's here and there. Also have 18 quarts of amsoil 0W20 that I may eventually run as well.

Loving the synpower

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

More than likely I dont think it will matter what I run, my daily commute is 62 miles round trip with 32 miles each way roughly to work, with 20-25 of those miles on the highway with the cruise set at 70mph so I am pretty easy on the oil.
-I am sure I will eventually run the synpower when I get more miles on the car (2955 now) and eventually use the amsoil as well. Also got 6 quarts mobil clean 7500 at pepboys with rebate when I was in PA when I got the synpower at aap.

My stars will all align the weekend before Thanksgiving this year, and everything being driven currently will get fresh elixir.
'99 Accord will get GC again
'97 Accord will go from Pennzoil 10w40 conventional to Pennzoil Platinum 5w30
'97 Aero will get another run of MEIJER's own brand sythetic. I will do three 4K runs of this stuff, and may then get a used oil analysis.

Changed the oil in my daughters 98 escort,106000 miles on the odeometer.I changed the oil since she bought it at 60000 with 5w30 gtx every 3000 miles. Some times this car gets a quart of some sort of mixture i have laying around.Today it got 3.5 quarts of 5w30 gtx 1/2 quart of 5w20 syntech,1/2 quart of castrol 20w50 v twin.Love this old car can get rid of 1/2 quart bottles that i have laying around.99.9% of the time this car gets 5w30 gtx with a on sale oil filter. The escort is a 2.0 never uses a drop of oil, looking in the filler cap hole the top of the motor is clean as a pin.
