Isuzu manual trans fluid

My GF has a 99 Isuzu Amigo with 5 speed trans (V6). At 30,000 miles I changed the transmission fluid with the recommended 5w30 motor oil. I am wondering if it would shift smoother if I would drain and refill with Honda MTF (my 2003 EX shifts like butter) or GM Synchromesh? Any ideas?

The manual transmission fluids are much thinner than 5W30 the transmission was designed for. If you really want nicer shifting, a synthetic 5w30 might be a safer alternate.

Redline MTL!!! IT is designed for any application that does not allow a GL5 fluid. The Redline MT90 is designed for those applications that need a 75-90 gear lube and can have a product that is simalar to a GL5 fluid but is specificly designed with transmissions in mind and their syncros in mind. A lot of grass roots raceing types mix MTL and MT90 50/50.

These products are preety well tested on COrvettes,Hondas,Toyotas..........The 50/50 combo gives the best shift feel in the old MR2's!! My Camry will be getting some soon!!

Would Mobil 1 5w30 work?

The MUA 5spd transmissions in these trucks need the 5w30 for proper splash lubing. They wont last long at all with gear oil in them. They are a pretty stout, long lasting box. Mobil 1 5w30 is a great choice & runs well in them.
