I don't even know what a "carrier" oil is. Are they talking about base stocks?

As far as I know, M1 is 100% REAL synthetic, right BITOGers?

When M1 went from TriSyn to SuperSyn (what was that? 3 years back?) they got rid of the conventional additive carriers.
Out of curiosity, where did you find that quote?

Another person thinking they know more then the actually do. Many times addatives are included with a carrier oil. Molekule has posted they are commonly Group I, but can also be Group V. I believe this is the case with Mobil 1.

The additives are in liquid form. They are disolved into a oil that is known as the carrier oil. This carrier oil is then blended into the base oil.

IIRC, there used to be a problem with getting some additives to disolve into synthetic oil, so a conventional oil was used for carrier oil, so this statement WAS correct. With the additive package usually being around 15% of the oil, synthetic oils were partially conventional.

From what I understand, manufacturers have overcome the problem with additives and synthetic oils, making the carrier oil comment not currently true.

Actually, Tri-Syn was the first formulation that did not have a mineral oil additive carrier.

i dont think that their was enought dino in mobil 1 to even say that their was dino in it.
