Seriously retro-looking and ugly but might offer tons of utility and good visibility and possible great fuel economy. It looks like a larger Nissan Versa.

If it's practical, CHEAP, and reliable, it should remain a very compelling choice, but it's still so ugly.

What's Toyota thinking?

Small, efficient, reliable and boring are what most people expect from a Corolla. If they made it bigger and prettier with 19" rims and a bigger engine to burn fuel with... well, wouldn't that really just be ruining it?

"Despite the fact that the car has lost two inches outside, the rear passengers are presented with an inch and a half in legroom."

They better have short legs...

I kinda like it. Is that a new toyota logo?

Its kinda like that ugly ex girlfriend the one you really liked but you wouldn't bring her around your friends because you knew they would point and laugh.

For the folks who will buy a Corolla they'll still buy it, even if it looked like dog vomit. Not everybody wants a really flashy or sporty car. Some folks are fine with Wonder Bread, which is what a Corolla is the automotive equivalent of.

I think it looks fine.

The side mirrors are pretty goofy looking, but other than that, it doesn't look ugly at all to me. I mean, it doesn't look GREAT, it doesn't make me say, "wow that looks great, I want one!" But it doesn't make me say, "Eeeww, that's an ugly car!" either. It's just another plain, boring Corolla.

Hmmmm, maybe Toyota is going to move to a N.A. version and a world version of the Corolla? If I had to guess I would've said that's the new Yaris sedan. Or maybe Toyota is going to drop the Yaris and market the Corolla in that car segment as well?

I am the opposite of the rest of you, I think it looks fine, but it isn't fine. The last generation of Corolla is abysmal as a car gets. Cheapest feeling interior by far since I was in a Sebring from the late 2000's. I have the "privelege" of driving them for work, they are just god awful cars.

I dunno, it doesn't look much different from a Cruze to me. Typical small sedan proportions and styling.

I have to disagree with you. I've always thought the Cruze (while a fine car) was on the boring side of the new compacts, at least it's sleek and somewhat upscale-looking. This new Corolla looks like some cheap junk Chinese car.

(Nothing against the Chinese, but their auto styling leaves something to be desired)

Nobody even knows if that IS the new Corolla. And some are already throwing it to the wolves.

For example, this photo is also rumored to be the new 11th generation Corolla. I'd wager that the picture below is more representative of what we'll see in the 11th generation Corolla than the one posted earlier in this thread.
