Is this oil worth $1/quart?

At my local NAPA store the manager has a hoard of Valvoline NextGen. I can buy as much as I want for $1/quart. I bought all of the Nextgen Maxlife 5W30 today (24quarts).

Question is regular NextGen worth it or pass? (I think there is 48 quarts of the 5W30)

They have all the other weights as well, i just choose 5W30 for my fleet

It might be worth it yes, but keep in mind some of it is recycled used oil.

It's just as good or better than regular Maxllfe and regular valvoline. I say buy it all!

It's good, are O'Reilly Auto parts had it on sale a while back. I got like 6 quarts. As far as I know it's only on sale since it's been discontinued.

It's already been recycled once, it's probably better than its first go around.

I'd probably skip the regular nextgen or maybe buy just one oil change worth.

There were questions about it's NOACK. And there will always be deals on oil eg when GF6 comes out. Do you want to have several years worth of basic quality conventional oil and be unable to get in on Full Synthetic deals for $1 a quart when they come up.

Plus you have a small stash of the better oil - Nextgen Maxlife syn blend, already.

I at one time had over 100 quarts of NextGen MaxLife... Have maybe 10 now. Bought a couple years ago for .33 a quart

Never had an issue using it.

I ran it for a couple of oil changes and my engine did not blow up. Got a pretty sweet deal on it when oreilly ran a promotion on it in 2012. Id use it again.

which its pretty low on the TBN and additves..

I chose 5W30 over the 5w20 based on this http://www.pqiamerica.com/Nov2013/Valvolinenextgen.htm

I might just get a couple of cases of the regular 5w30 Nextgen for mother-in-law oil changes lol.
