As a rule red line products tend to run on the thicker side of the grade. According to what I've read here in this forum the 0w-20 is actually closer to a 0w-30. Red line does make great products. I have yet to use something made by them that I didn't like however it availability the problem.
Liqui-moly is German made and I've emailed them regarding their products and they don't re-formulate for the north american market,so it's the same stuff as what they use in Europe, which keeps oil to a tougher standard then we do here.
I've used the liqui-moly 0w-40 in my mustang and all I've got is anecdotal info regarding it's performance. I am happy with it and bought it again,bu
t I'm going to try the caterham thin/thick mixes for next year to use up all my stock.
Do you know what spec you have to adhere to?
I'm looking at the liqui-moly 0w-40 right now. It says:
API SM/CF;ACEA A3-04,B4-04. Then just below it reads:
VW502 00/505 00;MB229.3;BMW Longlife-98;Porsche A40
So if any of these specs apply to you your good to go with it.
I've got no real info as far as red line is concerned. I use their gear oil in my Harley,as well as their engine oil in various vehicles. Never had a problem with it other than cost and availabilty. I wish Canadian Tire still stocked it.
It is also a long drain oil so I believe it will easily do a 15000km interval however I would test it at 10000kms just to see where you stand.
