Is this girl really that stupid?

You may be right Gary. I don't know, I just get the vibe she is playing it up a bit. Simpson did this pretty well too. I think Britney is another story. It seems as if her childhood up bringing is starting to reveal itself.

Considering what Pickler dealt with growing up, I give her credit. .02

You expect her to know of Hungary & that Budapest is its capitol? Are you kidding me?

Seriously, I doubt that most Americans even know where Baghdad and Kabul are.

She was raising money for a charity, so her stupidity/ignorance would have to be real.
Either she is stupid to cheat the children in the charity by pretending to be stupid, or she is just plain stupid.
Either way, it was embarrassing and scary to me.

No he doesn't.

Jennifer Garner's character Sydney Bristol from the TV series Alias would go to Budapest Hungary all the time; that's how I got to know the place.

Well, this one isn't exactly neurosurgeon material either:

Maybe the show's title should be "Are You Smarter than a Fifth-Grader from 1963?" We learned the darn geography back then, or else.

I have no first-hand knowledge of today's fifth-graders, but from everything I hear about schools nowadays, we'll be lucky if today's 10-year-olds aren't all on public assistance by the time they're 20.

Yeah, but note that the actual 5th grade kid she was playing against had buzzed in that he knew the answer (and in fact did know the answer) before this blond twit had even read the question.

I think it varies greatly from school system to school system. The high school I graduated from won the A-team Olympics 5 years in a row (tri-state area.) My girlfriend who went to a school 5 miles away but in a different state is always bringing up the fact that she is from Hungary and so proud of it. I asked her this question, she didn't know. But schools just make me mad. In my graduating class there was a huge bruiser guy, started varsity football when he was a freshman. That's right, he couldn't multiple 12*11. Got a full ride to WVU, got injured...

Now he bags groceries back home.

"Pickler was born in Albemarle, NC Her mother abandoned her at age two, and her father, Clyde "Bo" Pickler, Jr., described by Kellie as having had a lifetime problem with drugs and alcohol, served a 3 year 9 month prison sentence at Florida State Prison for aggravated assault and battery, stemming from a 2003 stabbing incident. He was released on May 6, 2006 a week after his daughter was eliminated."

I don't think geography is her strong suit. I doubt math and science are, either. Surviving the pain of complete abandonment by her parents has been her drive throughout childhood and adolescent years is her strength.

And now she makes more money than all of us combined.

A few guys (Chasers??) from Oz went around the U.S with a map showing mainland Australia as Noth Korea and Tasmania as South Korea, and the only comment was how small SK was compared to NK. They also marked Oz as Iraq and still nobody twigged. Obviously geography is not big in U.S schools

how many people on this board could be married to Pickler because she's hot, ignoring her stupidity? I couldn't.

It depends. Did you ever see Annie Hall? At one point Woody and Keaton are walking down the street in one of Woody's significant anxiety driven conversations. Woody stops an attractive couple and asks, "How do you two do it? The man answers, "Well, I'm basically shallow and self centered." The woman responds, "..and I'm basically the same way.".

I agree. You can upgrade the software ..but if the wetware is defective

Some of our finest economically challenged urban dwellers are very ingenious in their misapplied creative skills. It would be hard to call them stupid when they appear to pass right through walls that we put up as behavioral partitions.
