Pentosin claims their MTF-LT-2 is equivalent to BMW MTF-LT-2 by referencing the BMW part number (83 22 0 309 031).
Here is a link to their data sheet.
I'm asking the question because of the way they worded the description:
Quote:
Pentosin MTF 2 is a fully synthetic gear oil with all
purpose performance for manual transmissions. This
manual transmission oil is formulated with modern
EP-additives, high shear stable VI improvers and
premium synthetic base oils. Pentosin MTF 2 improves
synchronization characteristics and was lowered to SAE
75W-80 for better fuel economy.
I'm specifically wondering about the underlined part where they say the "improves" and "lowered". They improved and lowered it relative to what? Either it's equivalent to MTF-LT-2 or it's not. It can't be both.
