I have searched but did not find much info on this. Just looking for experience and/or results from using the Napa brand high mileage oil. My truck has almost 169K on it now and I am considering switching to HM oil. I appreciate any info you may have. Thanks.

It's basically valvoline maxlife. All Napa brand oils are made by Ashland/Valvoline. I believe the additive pack is the same, it's the base oils that are different. Most people here think it's the opposite but the Napa oils which have VOAs/UOAs done here and on PQIA show very similar additives (if not identical), but different NOACK, subzero viscosity and pour points.

Synthetic version: http://www.pqiamerica.com/March2013PCMO/Marchsyntheticsallfinal.html

I have searched online till I am blue in the face and can not find out for sure..is Napa HM a blend like Maxlife or is it still a conventional but with extra zinc and other additives? Napa classifies their regular conventional Premium and HM oils both as "mineral oils".

I think I have answered my own question, finally saw on the Napa website page for their HM oil where it says "Synthetic: No". So I wonder what is the difference between the Napa HM and Maxlife? Maybe I am wrong but I thought the only versions available now of Maxlife were full synthetic and synthetic blend?

Does your truck have small leaks or consumption issues?
If not then I would not change what you are doing
Napa is very good oil by the way and if you catch it on sale it is even better

My truck has a very slight oil leak at the rear main seal. It puts a very light film of oil on the front of the transmission. It is not a bad leak right now but i thought maybe I would try HM oil to see if it would help. There are no other leaks or excess consumption.

My Ranger had a small oil leak. It started leaving a small drop on my driveway about once a week. I switched over to Pennzoil HM. It only left a drop about once a month after the change. I am now running Maxlife and the leak is gone for the most part. No more drops at all.
