I totally agree.
I think the word "Iraqis" can be replaced with "moslems/arabs" easily.
They will ALWAYS hate anything not only American but anything western or non-moslem:
(One day, while I was studyng in Germany, a guy from Syria asked if I am a moslem; I said I'm not, and he asked me "why not?". He was angry, and was NOT joking. This was a guy who was a student, wanting to be a doctor(he never became one).
I tried to believe all moslems are not like this, but I'm giving up on it
97tbird, I have found things to be much the same as you have. I like to believe that there are both open-minded and closed-minded people in all religions. But the only place I ever encountered hostility from a religious group was in New Mexico from Moslems. I have visited Buddhist temples in the San Luis Valley and the people were extremely friendly. I have met people who believe in Wicca who are extremely friendly. I was surprised by the intolerance of the Moslems I came across in New Mexico.
I get tired of anybody who feels I have to believe like they do, regardless if you are talking about Christians, Moslems, or whoever.
And the Moslems are going to have to kill an awful lot of human beings if they want for this world to be totally Moslem. What would Allah think of that?

I once asked a guy from Jordan the same thing. He really didn't give me an answer, but asked what religeon I have, and when i told him I'm theoretically a buddhist(i'm from Sri Lanka), he said "Oh! I know Buddha, why are there only a handful of buddhists in the world? Has this Buddha ever said or done anything useful?"

Older or later Allah? In the Bible, God may not have changed, but man's understanding of God seems to be of a more mellow one in the New Testament than the Old.
In the Quran, the parts written after the Christians failed to support Mohammed seem to be harsher than the earlier parts calling for cooperation of all the people of the book.
You make some good points. No entire group should be judged by some of the more outspoken ones. Some people here are more insistent about car care issues than any Christian.
