I saw a nice IR thermometer at Radio Shack for $50.00. Does anyone use an IR and what is a good one. Trying to find a good one, but at a good price.

I have a "Alltrade" one that my son gave me for Christmas. I think it was from Costco for about $50.
Rated temperature range is -40F to +932F

It seems to work well, and has a laser pointer. It also works at long distances as long as the target diameter is 1/10 the distance or bigger.

Except for the color and labels it looks just like this one. The Alltrade also has a bigger temperature range than that one.

I have one of the Ratshack IR thermometers, I wish I had a laser thermometer. The IR unit is only good for close range. When the esoteric battery goes so will the RatShack thermometer.

I'll second the Raytec Minitemp, they seem to be well made for a decent price. I got mine through MSC for use at work, a really handy device to have.

I have a Raytek ST25. Paid about $140.

I like the dual lasers that tell you the diameter of spot it is measuring.

Thanks to all for the info. I did find the Raytek MT6 by Fluke for $72.90 including shipping at www.thetoolwarehouse.net.
Time for an early Christmas, if I can get my wife to look at the info.
