Ok, I'll bit, where is the link to bitog.one? I don't see it.

bitog.one’s server DNS address could not be found.

I just noticed this post, by accident. the "." after bitog was a period, and "one" was the beginning of a sentence.i don't use caps (long story), unless I'm corrected, or for effect.

the "pot" stocks are doing very well, and should continue to climb, as legalization is here next july. do your d.d., and you will do well. good luck.

Allows me to trade my holdings without messing with my core stocks. My stocks all have good divs and I was able, for the most part, to buy before the Ex-Dividend Date, then sell later as the market moved up. Some I held until the next Ex-Dividend Date, then sold, eventually, I sold all of them to reload my cash. Somewhere earlier I posted about the market was throwing money at me. I had big gains in the first qtr. Since then I have sold all of my DOW stocks. I should have kept AMZN, BA, one other.

Man I hope you covered your NFLX short?

I still have it. Despite the whining about Amazon on this board...the company is a still a long-term position for us.

You're absolutely right. It doesn't meet my value investor criteria.

However, and this is important, my wife and I choose the stocks in our portfolio. A joint decision. A literal investment in our marriage. AMZN was her pick. It's done quite well.

No one stock is over 4% of the total portfolio. So, even if that pick is out to lunch. We are in no jeopardy overall.

But your point is well taken...it's trading at a crazy multiple of earnings...

This is something I need to get through my head. Just because I don't understand the reason it goes up, doesn't make it a bad investment. It's a feeding frenzy mentality. I guess?

Amazon is reshaping the buying trends of millions of people whether they are Prime Members or not, it will be a good stock for your portfolio. Great deals and free shipping... why bother going to retail stores to do your shopping. Definitely crazy growth in the next 10 years.

I did buy a few shares of Amazon a while back.

You sound like a PR rep. Where do you go from a 500 billion market cap? You think it has another 10x in it? 5 trillion? It just doesn't make sense to me. But like I was saying above, it doesn't have to make sense to be a winner.

I never said the company will be worth 10x.... I said they will see crazy growth in 10 years.

Your wife will be be happy when she orders something from Amazon, she gets a text message of the ETA of delivery and 30 minutes later an Amazon drone lands in your backyard.

Facebook is a waste of time and look at the performance of their stock. I know they get lots of money through advertisements.

Nice! AMZN is a great long term hold for you, you can't lose. At $590 it was a long term hold for me, but I couldn't see it. My failure to understand it. I could have sold 1/2 of it and had 20 shares for free or nearly so. Just as well in my case. My forced withdraw of ~12K (MRD)+Mistaken deposit to the IRA and, took a bath on FTR, even so, I'm still plus 7% for the year. Could have been worse. Sold BP and another for a small profit and reloaded my cash. I'm still expecting a downturn for 4th. qtr.

My mom has an $8000 RMD this year...

Our IRA is in my wife's name. 2016 was the last year we could put money in as she was going to be 70 1/2 in Oct. What I didn't know, was that she had to be gainfully employed in order to make a contribution. She had retired in Jan. 2015 so that contribution was ok. There was a 6% penalty on the money, ($6500), or I could do a one time removal of the contribution, which I chose. Unfortunately, the regulation required Fidelity to also remove the gains on that $6500. That little mistake cost me just under $8000, added to the $4000 I had pulled to clear up some bills. My MRD for 2017 will be just under $8400 so I still have to do another $4400. I'll wait to do that until the end of the year.

No, no, no... it needs to keep going up, up and up.
