One has to wonder about the divergence of AAPL and INTC.

A few months ago AAPL announced that INTC would provide them with chips. You would think the businesses would move in tandem to some extent.

Apparently, this is not happening.

I can't wait until GM partners with Nissan and Renault so we can drive Corvettimas and Malibeaux, not to mention Le Grande Hoomaire.

Pscholte, I think there's a ploy afoot to boost GM's stock price. Don't look for this deal in the near future.

At least you've given them some nice model names if it does happen.

And Chevrolet Corvette Coupé, a name consisting of 3 French words in a row.

It's not looking good today and the Israeli army is poised on the border of Lebanon, which won't increase anyone's confidence in the near-term. I'm sticking with Sir John etal who say these are the times to buy (for those with long investment horizons). It takes nerves and discipline AND--I believe--those who are commited to being INVESTORS in quality companies, but unless this is THE WINDING DOWN OF ALL THINGS...there is growth ahead.

Please tells us! Can't be more embarrasing than when I F-up with MOBL. Sold and re-bought at exactly the wrong time!

---------------
Reliance Steel & Aluminum Co. declared a 2-for-1 stock split on Thursday May 18 , with shareholders of record as of July 5 getting an additional share for each share they currently own.

The shares will be distributed on July 19. After the split, the company will have 75.2 million shares outstanding.
-------------------

I bought 50 shares of RS on July 5th in anticipation of the stock split. Should have bought on July 3rd. On July 20th. instead of having 100 shares of RS at ~$40, I had 50 shares at ~40. ouch!!

I was expecting to sell half to raise money for another buy. I had to sell immediately to prevent further losses. I lost $1982.50 .

Yes, I recently got rid of some real losing stocks, if you know what I mean!

Portfolio is looking better already!

OMoparG - that 's weird - maybe I'm not following you - the post split price should have been cut in half (approx) - the quote on RS is $36. I can see the split on the chart. Yeah that would have been nice to own!

P, I bought at the pre-split price on the date of record. In order to get the split, I needed to buy the stock sometime before the date of record. I ended up with the pre-split stock at the post-split price. The thing I don't understand is, there was considerable trading from July 5 to the distribution on july 19 at the pre-split price.

That sucks alright. I've had a lot of bad bounces...haven't had that one happen, though. In the old days I missed a few juicy dividends due to date snafus. Nowadays the information is up front. Splits are odd sometimes.

I bought UPS on today's "BAD" news.

Also, I bought ISL during the current bad news.

Both up.

Well, now that I know what the rules are, it won't happen again. My fault for not being through enough in my research. Hey, it's only money....

UPS, wow! Down 10+. Looks like an opportunity. Don't know anything about ISL. I'm watching CSX right now.

NG up nicely this morning.

Natural Gas (NG) has been up since I mentioned it.

NG = Novagold? It's up. I know nothing of this company.

UPS is pure speculation.

ISL is wild a-s-s guessing. But Israel is kicking butt and staying put. ISL trades at a great discount.

Been watching PFO and HPI?
