Even though the top indexes were down a bit today, my summer defensive position allowed a really healthy gain for Friday. Every once in awhile I'm in the right.
Change subject - I think natural gas is priced low compared to oil. Yet my NG funds seem to be doing great. I think come fall/winter+ NG will surge. Any novel/good investment ideas to play natural gas?
Nothing warrants a buy right now that I can tell. On one hand they don't seem to have a "hook", a killer product to drive earnings and become truly profitable (I do see the head guys like to take home money.) OTOH look at the surprising current major holders:
Useless factoid. Now within $XXXX of my all time high of May 5 or so. Yet the market is nowhere near those highs. Good psychological upside potential.
On a more speculative note, I'm looking to get into Turkey on the recent dive and weakness in their lira. But TKF sells at a 25% premium! Any other Turkey funds out there? (I know turkey funds
I owned IMH earlier this year. Did ok on it. It's gone sideways since. Looks like it's ready to move up some now. I've been looking at EQY. It's gone down hill since late April. Looks like it might turn up before long.
