dib - I've seen that, and I do think ETF's are a good thing in general. I'm holding a number right now.

My main gripe with ETF's is maybe a bit petty:

Most (but not all) have fairly a high per share price - I'm not talking NAV, or even trading value, some sell at a discount - gotta love that! I'm talking per share prices $75-$100 and often over $100. I feel lose I leverage, and even some difficulty buying at dips with such a high share price.

I agree,

High share price prents most of us from buying blocks (multiples of 100 shares) I like to buy 100 shares at a time becuase of the fast fill execution. Plus it also makes it easier for figure your gain loss.

Most of the stocks that I buy are under $20. I guess when I get $100,000 in there I can trade with $10,000-$20,000. Until then I'll stick with $1000,$2,000 per stock per trade.

I bought PLUG at 6.50, FCEL at 10.83 and ENER at $13.67!!!

I've been whatching those stocks for a long time. But I got burn on one so bad that I'm very lery of the technology at least until they become more prevelent. Most are in the R&D phase, so some have a very high burn rate.(which is what happened to the one that I had)

Had 1800 shares with an average share price of about $.87 when over $15.00/share. then I watched it go right down to nothing.

Granted I could/should have sold at least 1/2 of the them at that time, but I kept saying, it's going to go, it going to go. (The company actually went from the Bulliten Board to the nasdaq, which is why I thought it was going to go. Oh well. I'm more cautios now, and won't let that happen again. I at least will try to lock in profits before I start to speculate (in other words playing with someone elses money not mine.) Good luck with them.

P,

Give MOBL more time dude. Remember the Kerry rally you spoke of? Less than a month to go! I hear a Bush win will send the QQQ into outter space!

I'm really anxious! I can barely wait!

Yeah, I know GM! I wish oil prices would come down $10 or so.....that would ease people's minds a lot.

I'll go out on a limb here and say the S&P will be up for the next few days. Most of the charts look very oversold, but the S&P is still in a downward trending channel. If it turns up from here, maybe there will be enough momentum to break out to the upside.....maybe.....

MMM is tanking today a head & sholders top which will take it much lower.Or it could be looked at as a 50% retracement and be a buying opp.I heard more noise that Oil can go to $80 a barrel before its something to worry about. Can you see oil at $80 I'll be buying oil contracts.

I've seen it go from 10-20 and back down to 10 serveral times. My problem is I have trouble timing it.

I think you did good, if not don't worry about there are other "sales" on the self.

I'm looking at MKTY now.

Please remove the chicken little SPAM. We've seen the viewpoint and it's 100% OK to post the view point, but just puking out a contrarian bear add is not allowed per the rules of the game.

Finally sold two positions yesterday with some slight gains.

Got a couple in the tank......watch me I'm going long.

AM - Sometimes I listen to you...this time I 1/2 listened. AMD looks fine. It's just so hard for me to go back in after that 4 to 15+ run I enjoyed last year.

What do you think of MOT?? Charts show it trending down, broke out of decent volume, and took a crap...

Not that it matters because I dont post in this thread often but PPD which is pre-paid legal announces earnings on Monday. They were involved in a lawsuit which they won and shorts sold the fool out of the stock.

There are 15 million shares outstanding and about 7 million of them are sold short. Many were betting on the company losing the lawsuit and it didnt happen.

The company recently repurchased about 1 million shares to bring them down to the 15 million level and so they believe in themselves.

The PE is 12 which is reasonable and earnings should be ok in my opinion.

One of the fastest growing industries in this nation is identity theft and PPD sells legal solutions to combat this scourge so I believe they are in a growth industry.

With short interest at approximately 80% of the float and listed at a days to cover of 63 this seems like it might be worth investigating now that the lawsuit is over.

Do your due diligence and good luck

PS

Earnings come after the bell so there is still time to get in and S & P estimates are for .60 cents per share.

The silly thing only trades 56,000 shares a day so its hard to enter and exit positions but those 7 million shares short have to shaking in their boots right now. The most dedicated buyers in a stock are short sellers and they are all over this one.

Happy Motoring All

Pabs,

MOT is in the tank right now. Not a buy. Looks like it just broke through the 200 dma.

Bugshu,

What was the results on earnings for PPD?
