Well, that's interesting. brexit had almost no effect on my portfolio. Yesterday it recovered what little it had dropped and today it has reached a new high.

Does look nice. It's been on a down hill slide since mid 13. Whats the story?

The way the market has bounced back since the UK announced it's break away from the EU 5 days ago, people are definitely using the initial downturn as a buying opportunity and bringing the marked back up to where it was the day before the UK vote. Some people probably made a quick 4~5% gain with this short 850 point downturn if they bought at the low point (6/27/16).

My silver coins are about $238 face value. We culled those out of pocket change when the silver recall was announced. My wife has something like $50 in un-circulated full silver Kennedy half dollars and another $20 of un-circulated half silver Kennedy half dollars. These are heirlooms to pass on to our grand children.

I have some coins like that I won't sell. When I wrote "actual silver coins and bullion" I should have just said bullion, because I'm talking bars and coin shaped bullion, such as commercial mint rounds - and US silver eagles, Brit/Aus/Canadian rounds. Typically bought from dealers on ebay (best way to buy silver, IMHO) or at best possible web deals. I did occasionally buy from individuals, but only those with top ratings and even then, I tested the silver with non-destructive tests. Never any problems. Also I've had people pay off debt, or buy stuff with silver.

Just over $19.50. Decent percent move a short time! I won't sell unless we go into mid $20's.

To bad you don't own a silver stock/ETF...they have been on a tear lately....I think a big selloff in the stock market is around the corner. Gold & Silver don't go up like this for no reason.

Of course I have owned a variety of metal ETF's. I day trade those, but there are actually days when metals go up nicely and the ETF's go down. Because gold/silver miners are subject to the vagaries of the market, and a host of other variables. Sometimes there are good reason to own the actual metal.

You think it's coming? Any hints of time frame?
